Blue Mountains Nature Journal

Its Winter in The Blue Mountains, and its absolutely essential, that despite strong winds, and very cool temperatures, I get out and about in nature. It connects me to the seasons and to my environment. I am incredibly fortunate to live right on the edge of the World heritage national Park. Today I did not see another human as I enjoyed a beautiful walk.

I walk until I spot something that is inspiring, or different from the day before. Today the Grass Trees where so beautiful. Winter has left them more exposed than usual, as the soft grass and plants that surround them are not about right now.

I notice the leaf litter, the browns, the burnt umber's and perylene greens. Colours I never used to appreciate. But now I love so much. My journal is a Traveler's Notebook. I love it because i can add inserts, and I have a variety of different papers I use it. Ingres paper in cream is my current favourite.

New flowers have started to bloom, not seen only 2 days ago.

Then I walk home again, past the quiant suburban homes, and newly flowering rhodedendrons.
